Description
Course: Supporting Families Through Loss – Live Interactive Training Format: Live, 2.5-hour virtual or in person training Compassionate Support Through Loss is a foundational training for doulas and birth workers to feel prepared and confident in guiding clients through pregnancy loss, infant loss, and the complex emotions of life after loss. For doulas, loss is an inevitable and challenging part of your work. This training provides a solid basic introductory foundation in loss-informed care, equipping you with the compassion, presence, and knowledge needed to provide services grieving families—ensuring you feel confident in supporting families. What You’ll Learn: - Define pregnancy & infant loss and why each experience is unique. - Understanding what families may experience throughout the process. - Recognize the emotional, physical and informational needs of grieving families. - Identify the 5 Pillars of Loss Support including Holding Space & Listening, Being There to Help Navigate, Nurturing & Caring for the Family, Honoring Grief & Creating Rituals, Providing Resources & Information. - Apply effective communication strategies to engage with families. - Recognize the importance of postpartum support after loss. - Develop self care strategies and identify personal circles to sustain your work. Participants will practice in breakout groups, be able to ask real-time Q&A, and learn communication tips to feel confident supporting clients through loss. This essential training empowers doulas to provide meaningful, empathetic support for families navigating loss. Participants will have a deep awareness of grief, practical skills, and the confidence to guide families with care, understanding, and compassionate presence. 2.5 CEU hrs approved by OHA Additional Costs + Outside of Salem, travel costs are $0.50/mile roundtrip

Compassionate Support Through Loss Training Booking & Payment Policy Reservation & Payment A $300 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your training date. Dates are not confirmed until the deposit has been received. Because dedicated preparation time and scheduling are set aside for your group, the deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance for your selected group pricing tier is due on or before the training date. Full payment must be received prior to the start of the training unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. If you need to reschedule, requests made at least two weeks prior to the training date may move to a new date with a $50 rescheduling fee. Requests made with less than two weeks’ notice will require a new $300 deposit. Group Size & Pricing Group pricing is structured in tiers and billed as a flat rate for the selected participant range. For example, the 11–14 participant tier is $1,230. This rate covers your group whether 11, 12, 13, or 14 individuals attend. Final attendance numbers must be confirmed no later than 72 hours prior to the training. If your confirmed headcount moves into a higher pricing tier, the remaining balance will be adjusted accordingly. If attendance falls into a lower tier, pricing will be adjusted to reflect the appropriate bracket. Completion Requirements & Certificates At the conclusion of the training, participants are required to complete a brief knowledge-check quiz and a feedback form. Completion of both components is required in order to receive a certificate of completion. OHA-approved certificates will be issued via email to each attendee within 24 hours of the training.
