Compassionate Support Through Loss is a foundational training for doulas and birth workers to feel prepared and confident in guiding clients through pregnancy loss, infant loss, and the complex emotions of life after loss. For doulas, loss is an inevitable and challenging part of your work. This training provides a solid basic introductory foundation in loss-informed care, equipping you with the compassion, presence, and knowledge needed to provide services grieving families—ensuring you feel confident in supporting families. What You’ll Learn: - Define pregnancy & infant loss and why each experience is unique. - Understanding what families may experience throughout the process. - Recognize the emotional, physical and informational needs of grieving families. - Identify the 5 Pillars of Loss Support including Holding Space & Listening, Being There to Help Navigate, Nurturing & Caring for the Family, Honoring Grief & Creating Rituals, Providing Resources & Information. - Apply effective communication strategies to engage with families. - Recognize the importance of postpartum support after loss. - Develop self care strategies and identify personal circles to sustain your work. This essential training empowers you to provide meaningful, empathetic support for families navigating loss. You’ll finish with a deep awareness of grief, practical skills, and the confidence to guide families with care, understanding, and compassionate presence.
